Franco has been producing top quality food in Essex for 35 years. He started on Mersea Island at Dino’s, then in Colchester at La Piazza. After that he opened the first Franco’s on East Hill and then moved to the Rose & Crown Hotel at Eastgates. Franco’s in Balkerne Passage was his next venture followed by Portofino on the Hythe, which led on to the present Franco’s at Clacton-on-Sea.
Franco and his wife Gill, strive to make the food and service of the highest quality using all fresh ingredients, sourced locally where possible, from fresh fish, shellfish and freshly cut meat and finest fruit and vegetables.
